Cornwall, UK
30 January - 2 February 2026

Ease into the new year with a soul-soothing escape on the Cornish coast — just you, your book, a steaming sauna, and three beautifully unhurried days to simply be.

This winter reading retreat offers a soft pause before the year gathers pace. Set within a private house in a tranquil coastal resort, it’s a space designed for comfort, calm, and quiet joy — with no pressure, no schedule, and nothing expected of you.

Think of it as your own cosy sanctuary by the sea. Each guest has a peaceful ensuite room, and the house is full of thoughtful touches: lounges layered with cushions and blankets, an outdoor pool heated year-round, and spa facilities including a sauna, hot tub, and steam room — all yours to enjoy as you wish.

There’s no set agenda, only gentle structure if you’d like it — perhaps a creative workshop, a coastal walk, or a quiet moment in the cinema room. Meals are nourishing and unhurried, with long, communal dinners and time to connect (or not) in a way that feels right for you.

Cornwall, with its dramatic skies and story-rich landscapes, sets the tone. This isn’t a retreat about one particular book — it’s about creating the conditions for stories to come alive. For a few slow days, you’ll have the time and space to read, rest, and reconnect with yourself.

Welcome to the art of doing less — beautifully.

Saint Columb Major is easily reached by road, just off the A39 and A30. If you’re driving, we’ll send the exact address and parking instructions in your welcome pack. It’s a beautiful route — expect hedgerows, winding lanes, and the feeling of slowing down with every mile.
